Quiet Central-Murray Rambler on a Spacious Corner Lot 4933 S Atwood Blvd Salt Lake City, Utah 84107 United States
Murray is located in the central part of the Salt Lake Valley. In the early days of its history, the Murray area served as home to various Native American tribes, including the Paiute, Shoshone and Ute tribes. In the fall of 1848, attracted to what was known as the "Big Bend" of the Jordan River, early pioneers arrived and settled in the area. Murray gradually became a ‘traveler's rest’ stop for Pony Express riders and the area continued to grow and prosper. Located in the center of the Salt Lake Valley, today Murray has become an enterprise for industry. It is known as a major retail hub and is also home to some of the best parks and recreation in the valley, including Murray Park, the Jordan River Parkway, Salt Lake County Ice Center and the Wheeler Historic Farm. The Murray City Cultural Arts program also hosts year-round cultural activities including arts-in-education projects, workshops, camps, art shows, and a performing arts organization. Notably, Murray is also home to the Desert Star Playhouse, located in the historic Iris Theater, along with both the Murray Theater and Murray Park Amphitheater which host screenings for the Slamdance Film Festival. Forbes magazine has ranked Utah the No. 1 state for business four out of the last five years. Salt Lake County is also the home of the NBA’s Utah Jazz, Real Salt Lake of the MLS, University of Utah Pac-12 athletics, and was the host of the 2002 Winter Olympic Games.
